Norwich Dragons 0 – 1 Harleston Magpies
Having lost the previous week to a very good Pelicans team, Magpies were determined to get back to winning ways against Dragons. The game started evenly with neither side creating any chances despite lots of good attacking intentions. As the half wore on Magpies started to dominate possession with lots of strong attacks down the right side involving Kieran Peters, Rob Scott and Jack Newbery. The opening goal eventually came following a flowing move started by Cameron Woodcock, a strong run from Harry Haigh and a great finish from close range from Sol Barker. Half-time score 1-0 to Magpies.
The second half saw Magpies dominate early exchanges with Jack Frere-Smith dominating the midfield and lots of hard work involving Alex Lawrence, Myles King and Jonty Hershel-Shorland. With ten-minutes remaining Dragons pushed hard for the equaliser but Ollie Sharp made a number of strong tackles and when Dragons did finally get into the circle Jordan Wiseman in goal coolly saw off the danger. Despite Dragons continued pressure Magpies always looked solid in defence and ran out deserved winners, maintaining their composure in the face of some robust tackling. Man of the match was Sol for his hard work and excellent passing.
