HARLESTON MAGPIES LADIES WEEKEND PREVIEW

Harleston Magpies Ladies sponsored by Musker McIntyre Estate Agents are away this Saturday against Wimbledon HC starting at 2.00pm.

Last week Magpies had a stunning 1-0 home win against the League leaders Sevenoaks who previously had a 100% record of seven straight wins. A penalty flick well taken by Maria Andrews was the match winning goal to increase her tally for the season to eight goals. At the other end a penalty flick awarded to Sevenoaks with two minutes to go was saved by goalkeeper Tosh Peet with a great diving save. Despite that defeat Sevenoaks are still at the top but Wimbledon who are in second place are now level on points with Sevenoaks.

Clearly Wimbledon away will be another top clash and another challenge for Magpies who are in third place four points behind the top two teams and have only been beaten once this season. They will also come up against former Magpies player Cherry Seaborn.

There will be a few changes to the Magpies squad this weekend which sees Jess Howland and Hannah de Selincourt join the squad.

SQUAD: Lucy Belsey (Capt), Lauren Barber, Louisa Greenacre, Debbie Francis, Katherine Ridley, Lauren Mickleburgh, Charlotte Peet, Lizzie Clymer, Tor Findlay, Annie Nunn, Abby Gooderham, Maria Andrews, Lucy Whiting, Jess Howland and Hannah de Selincourt

HARLESTON MAGPIES LADIES WEEKEND PREVIEW

Harleston Magpies Ladies sponsored by Musker McIntyre Estate Agents are at home this Sunday against the League leaders Sevenoaks HC starting at 2.00pm.

Last week Magpies returned to winning ways with a 2-1 away win at Chelmsford. Magpies were 2-0 up at half time thanks to two goals from Maria Andrews and they should have been 3-0 up. As always happens Chelmsford pulled a goal back and then Magpies had a battle on their hands, but Magpies just could not find that third goal to ensure a more comfortable win.

This Sunday on Sponsors Day Magpies will be faced with a real test against Sevenoaks who sit top of the League table with maximum points with seven wins out of seven matches played. Goals for 30 against 5 conceded. Sevenoaks have recruited well during the summer including South African player coach Jen Wilson who joined them from Canterbury. Wimbledon remain in second place three points behind the leaders, whilst Magpies are in third place four points behind Wimbledon.

Maria Andrews with two goals last week is now the second highest scorer in this League. Sevenoaks have the next three leading scorers with Jess Deniff, Cathy Gilliat-Smith and Maddie Thompson having scored 17 goals between them, but surprisingly only one from penalty corners.

SQUAD: Lucy Belsey (Capt), Lauren Barber, Louisa Greenacre, Bryony Lund, Debbie Francis, Katherine Ridley, Lauren Mickleburgh, Charlotte Peet, Lizzie Clymer, Tor Findlay, Charlotte Harrison, Annie Nunn, Abby Gooderham, Maria Andrews, Lucy Whiting and Kara Kilbourn

HARLESTON MAGPIES LADIES WEEKEND PREVIEW

Harleston Magpies Ladies sponsored by Musker McIntyre Estate Agents are away this Saturday against Chelmsord HC starting at 2.00pm.

Last week there was no League game so Magpies had a long time to reflect on their 4-1 defeat the previous week against Hampstead and Westminster. Clearly they will be one of the top three teams in the League and Magpies were not at full strength but it was still a disappointing way for Magpies to lose their first game of the season.

Still Magpies need to get back on track this week when they play Chelmsford away and the return of Lizzie Clymer, Kara Kilbourn and Lauren Mickleburgh makes it look a more familiar squad to the one that has been playing most of the season. At the moment Magpies are in 4th place with eleven points and Chelmsford are in 8th place with five points. Magpies have had mixed results at Chelmsford in recent years, but they need a good result this week with some very tough games in the next few weeks against the top teams Sevenoaks and Wimbledon.

Chelmsford started the season with a 1-1 draw away at Northampton, drew 0-0 at home to Hampstead and Westminster, beat West Herts away 6-4, lost at home to League leaders Sevenoaks 6-1 and lost away to Southgate 1-0.

SQUAD: Lucy Belsey (Capt), Lauren Barber, Louisa Greenacre, Bryony Lund, Debbie Francis, Katherine Ridley, Lauren Mickleburgh, Charlotte Peet, Lizzie Clymer, Tor Findlay, Charlotte Harrison, Annie Nunn, Abby Gooderham, Maria Andrews and Kara Kilbourn.

HARLESTON MAGPIES LADIES WEEKEND PREVIEW

Harleston Magpies Ladies sponsored by Musker McIntyre Estate Agents are away this Saturday against Hampstead and Westminster HC starting at 1.30 pm.

Last week after a disappointing first half against Southgate Maria Andrews scored a crucial goal to level the score at 1-1 just before half time. Despite going 2-1 down early in the second half Magpies finished much the stronger of the two teams to run out 5-3 winners to record another impressive win, although they will be disappointed to have conceded three goals. This will be the third time Magpies have scored five goals in a match this season and they are currently 3rd in the League.

Hampstead & Westminster are 4th in the League one place and one point behind Magpies. They have lost 2-1 at home to Wimbledon, drawn 0-0 away at Chelmsford, beaten St Albans 2-1 at home, beaten Southgate away 5-2 and last week they beat Northampton 7-3 away.

This will probably be Magpies toughest test to date and last season Magpies lost 1-0 to the London team in the final minute.

At the moment the League is settling down with Sevenoaks at the top looking very impressive with Wimbledon in second place. Those will be two challenging matches for Magpies to play in the coming weeks.

SQUAD FROM: Lucy Belsey (Capt), Lauren Barber, Louisa Greenacre, Bryony Lund, Debbie Francis, Katherine Ridley, Lauren Mickleburgh, Charlotte Peet, Lizzie Clymer, Tor Findlay, Charlotte Harrison, Lucy Whiting, Annie Nunn, Abby Gooderham, Hannah de Selincourt, Anna Tighe and Maria

HARLESTON MAGPIES LADIES WEEKEND PREVIEW

Harleston Magpies Ladies sponsored by Musker McIntyre Estate Agents are at home this Saturday against Southgate HC starting at 2.00pm.

Last week Lizzie Clymer scored a 68th minute equaliser to make it 2-2 and this late fight back was achieved with only ten players on the pitch. It showed great fighting spirit to come back so late in the game, but they were left to reflect on all those chances that they created in the opening ten minutes of the match and never took one of them. Maria Andrews put Magpies 1-0 up after 21 minutes and by that time Magpies should have been out of sight. As always happens St Albans came back into the game with two goals in the second half to take the lead and by this point Magpies had lost their composure. The equaliser came as quite a relief.

This week Southgate HC are the visitors to Weybread and they have made a steady start in their return to the East Conference. They are in 5th place with five points, three points behind Magpies who are in third place. Southgate have drawn 3—3 with Cambridge City, drawn 2-2 with St Albans, beaten Northampton 4-0 and last week lost 5-2 to Hampstead and Westminster. The picture seems to be emerging of a team who can score plenty of goals but at the moment are conceding too many. In Alexandra Fenwick they have the leading goal scorer in the League with six goals.

SQUAD FROM: Lucy Belsey (Capt), Lauren Barber, Louisa Greenacre, Bryony Lund, Debbie Francis, Katherine Ridley, Lauren Mickleburgh, Charlotte Peet, Kara Kilbourn, Lizzie Clymer, Tor Findlay, Charlotte Harrison, Lucy Whiting, Annie Nunn, Abby Gooderham and Maria Andrews

HARLESTON MAGPIES LADIES WEEKEND PREVIEW

Harleston Magpies Ladies sponsored by Musker McIntyre Estate Agents are away this Saturday at St Albans starting at 1.00pm.

Magpies were unable to keep their 100% record going last week against Cambridge City after conceding an early goal in the first half. A great fight back in the second half saw Maria Andrews equalise which was the least they deserved and they had the chances to win in the second half.

Even so Magpies have made a very good start to the season with two wins and a draw and are currently in second place behind a very strong looking Sevenoaks side.

St Albans have made a slow start to the season having lost their opening game 5-0 away at Sevenoaks, followed by a 2-2 draw at home against Southgate. Last week they lost 2-1 away at Hampstead and Westminster, which leaves them in 8th position with one point.

St Albans have had a much tougher start to the season than Magpies, but Magpies have the confidence and the momentum going into this match based on some good results. This week sees Charlotte Peet return in goal for Magpies after being unavailable last week. Thanks goes to Jade Daly for standing in last week.

Abby Gooderham is unavailable this week because of a school fixture but otherwise Magpies have much the same squad they have had all season.

SQUAD: Lucy Belsey (Capt), Lauren Barber, Louisa Greenacre, Bryony Lund, Debbie Francis, Katherine Ridley, Lauren Mickleburgh, Charlotte Peet, Kara Kilbourn, Lizzie Clymer, Tor Findlay, Charlotte Harrison, Lucy Whiting, Annie Nunn and Maria Andrews

HARLESTON MAGPIES LADIES WEEKEND PREVIEW

Harleston Magpies Ladies sponsored by Musker McIntyre Estate Agents are at home this Saturday against Cambridge City starting at 2.00pm.

Magpies have made a flying start to the season beating West Herts 5-2 away and last week beating Northampton Saints at home 5-0 and are currently top of the East Conference on goal difference from Wimbledon. With a very new look forward line this season to score ten goals in the opening two games is remarkable and the goals have been shared around with seven different goal scorers.

This week the forward line will be strengthened further by the return of England U18 player Abby Gooderham after injury.

However Magpies are aware that they have probably just played the weakest two teams in the League having both been promoted from the East and Midlands Leagues respectively. These teams still have to be beaten and Magpies could do no more than they have done and they have six precious points in the bag. History tells us that Magpies have not always put away struggling teams.

Cambridge City were one of the leading teams in the League last season and Magpies had two tough matches against them last season. Cambridge City have not got off to a flyer this season having drawn 3-3 away with Southgate in the opening game and last week lost 2-0 at home to Sevenoaks. Sevenoaks look to have strengthened considerably this season so that will have been a difficult fixture.

It promises to be an interesting match this week.

Injury wise Annie Nunn completed her first match back last week and Lauren Barber came through her second game unscathed.

SQUAD: Lucy Belsey (Capt), Lauren Barber, Louisa Greenacre, Bryony Lund, Debbie Francis, Katherine Ridley, Lauren Mickleburgh, Abby Gooderham, Jade Daly, Kara Kilbourn, Lizzie Clymer, Tor Findlay, Charlotte Harrison, Lucy Whiting, Annie Nunn and Maria Andrews

HARLESTON MAGPIES LADIES WEEKEND PREVIEW

Harleston Magpies Ladies sponsored by Musker McIntyre Estate Agents are at home this Saturday against another newly promoted team Northampton Saints. The match starts at 2.00pm.

Magpies received a huge boost to their confidence when they beat West Herts away 5-2 last weekend. Apart from the three points the most pleasing aspect was the way the forwards played and the fact that they created many chances and took five of them. There were plenty of things for the squad to work on in terms of the shape of the team, but it is so much easier if you get off to a winning start.

Northampton Saints have been promoted to the National League from the Midlands League and it is not the first time that Northampton have played at this level. Last week they drew 1-1 with Chelmsford having gone 1-0 down they came back to equalise in 65th minute. The other results in the East Conference last week saw Southgate draw 3-3 with Cambridge City, Sevenoaks beat St Albans 5-0 and Wimbledon beat Hampstead and Westminster 2-1.

Annie Nunn joins the squad after injury.

SQUAD: Lucy Belsey (Capt), Lauren Barber, Louisa Greenacre, Bryony Lund, Debbie Francis, Katherine Ridley, Lauren Mickleburgh, Anna Tighe, Charlotte Peet (Lee-Smith), Kara Kilbourn, Lizzie Clymer, Tor Findlay, Charlotte Harrison, Lucy Whiting, Annie Nunn and Maria Andrews

HARLESTON MAGPIES LADIES WEEKEND PREVIEW

Harleston Magpies Ladies sponsored by Musker McIntyre Estate Agents start their 18th successive season in the National League with an away trip to newly promoted West Herts on Saturday. The match starts at 1.30pm. There are no easy games in this League and West Herts are bound to be highly motivated in their first match at this level. It is also likely that they will have strengthened their squad since winning promotion.

Magpies start the season with Lucy Belsey remaining as Captain supported by Vice Captain Lauren Barber. Rob Sorrell has taken over as Coach for the first time, although he knows the players well having helped out with the coaching last season. Nick McAllen continues as Manager.

Magpies completed their final practice matches last Saturday in London beating Exe 2-0 and drawing 1-1 with Oxford Hawks. Magpies pre season has been hampered by a number of injuries, but this has given the opportunity for a number of young players to show what they can do at this level and a number have forced their way into the squad for this weekend.

Magpies are pleased to welcome back a number of players to the Club including Katherine Ridley, Bryony Lund, Annie Nunn, Jess Howland and Jade Daly who will all strengthen the squad. Fortunately Annie Nunn is on her way back from injury but is not quite ready for this weekend.

However from last season Magpies will be without Emma Lee-Smith who will be playing for East Grinstead and Katrina Sitch who is expecting a happy event. Susan Wessels is also unlikely to play this season.

SQUAD: Lucy Belsey (Capt), Lauren Barber, Louisa Greenacre, Bryony Lund, Debbie Francis, Katherine Ridley, Lauren Mickleburgh, Anna Tighe, Charlotte Peet (Lee-Smith), Kara Kilbourn, Lizzie Clymer, Tor Findlay, Charlotte Harrison, Lucy Whiting and Maria Andrews

HARLESTON MAGPIES LADIES WEEKEND PREVIEW

This Saturday Magpies play two matches at the Lee Valley Stadium at the Olympic Park in London against Exe HC at 14.50 and Oxford Hawks at 17.35.These will be two useful practice matches against two teams from the West Conference of the National League prior to the start of League matches the following week.

Last week Magpies had a useful work out against Ipswich at home winning 5-0 and they will be looking to build on that performance this week. Unfortunately Magpies will be nowhere near full strength due to injuries, school matches and unavailability. However these issues give Magpies the chance to continue to blood young players as they did at the Birmingham University Tournament three weeks ago.

Injuries continue to keep out Goalkeeper Charlotte Peet (Lee-Smith), Annie Nunn, Lauren Rowe and Kath Johnson. Lauren Barber who is also recovering from injury hopes to pick up some pitch time this weekend.

SQUAD: Lucy Belsey (Capt), Lauren Barber, Louisa Greenacre, Bryony Lund, Debbie Francis, Katherine Ridley, Lauren Mickleburgh, Anna Tighe, Jade Daly, Olivia Locke, Kara Kilbourn, Tor Findlay, Mia King, Jess Howland, Amy de Selincourt and Jess Howland.

HARLESTON MAGPIES LADIES PREVIEW

Harleston Magpies Ladies play Ipswich at home this Saturday starting at 12.00 in another pre season friendly as they continue their preparation for the start of the League season. After four matches at Birmingham last weekend the squad sees a number of players who were not available last week making their first appearance including Molly Redgrove, Charlotte Harrison and Hannah de Selincourt. It is important to see everybody play before the first League game although injuries continue to hamper preparations with Charlotte Peet (GK), Lauren Barber, Annie Nunn and Kath Johnson still not ready to return this week and Abby Gooderham has now been added to the injury list. With a large squad invited some will have the opportunity to pick up extra pitch time playing for the 2’s who have a practice match earlier.

Squad: Lucy Belsey (Capt), Debbie Francis, Louisa Grenacre, Bryony Lund, Charlotte Harrison, Molly Redgrove, Katherine Ridley, Lucy Whiting, Anna Tighe, Lauren Mickleburgh, Hannah de Selincourt, Jade Daly, Lizzie Clymer, Tor Findlay and Kara Kilbourn.

HARLESTON MAGPIES LADIES WEEKEND PREVIEW

Harleston Magpies Ladies 1st team sponsored by Musker McIntyre Estate Agents are at home this Saturday against Cambridge City in their final League game of the season. The match starts at 2.00pm. Unfortunately after two successive away games at Maidenhead and Wimbledon Magpies have no points to show for all their efforts. Wimbledon are a quality side and Magpies played very well in the first half and were unfortunate to have a Lucy Whiting goal disallowed. In the end this proved to be crucial. Magpies struggled to maintain their tempo in the second half and Wimbledon pressure finally saw them take the lead.

This week Cambridge City represent an even tougher match as they currently sit second in the League just four points behind the leaders Slough. Cambridge are having an impressive season and Magpies will have to be at their best if they want three points, but they will have home advantage. In the previous encounter earlier in the season the result finished 2-2 with Cambridge equalising with a late penalty flick. Magpies also need a win if they are going to hold on to 5th place as they are presently level on points with St Albans, whilst Sevenoaks who are one point behind.

Lucy Whiting is unavailable due to work but Magpies are pleased to welcome back Susan Wessels and Abby Gooderham to the squad.

SQUAD FROM:

Lucy Belsey (Capt), Debbie Francis, Charlotte Lee-Smith, Molly Redgrove, Katrina Sitch, Kath Johnson, Lauren Barber, Louisa Greenacre, Emma Lee-Smith, Charlotte Harrison, Maria Andrews, Lauren Mickleburgh, Susan Wessels, Abby Gooderham and Lizzie Clymer.

HARLESTON MAGPIES LADIES WEEKEND PREVIEW

Harleston Magpies Ladies 1st team sponsored by Musker McIntyre Estate Agents are away again this Saturday, but this time against Wimbledon with a start time of 2.00pm. Last weekend the long trip to Maidenhead ended in disappointment after twice coming from behind to level the score at 2-2 Magpies looked marginally the better team. However as the game seemed heading for a draw Magpies conceded a penalty stroke in the last minute which allowed Maidenhead to snatch a late winner.

Wimbledon are in 3rd position in the League and have been in good form since the start of the second half of the season. Last week they drew 1-1 with League leaders Slough. Magpies are also likely to come up against former players Cherry Seaborn and Lizzie Jones. Magpies are presently in 5th position in the League three points behind Wimbledon.

Emma Lee-Smith should return to the squad this week as well as Lauren Mickleburgh, but unfortunately Abby Gooderham is not available.

SQUAD:

Lucy Belsey (Capt), Debbie Francis, Charlotte Lee-Smith, Molly Redgrove, Katrina Sitch, Kath Johnson, Lauren Barber, Louisa Greenacre, Lucy Whiting, Emma Lee-Smith, Charlotte Harrison, Maria Andrews, Lauren Mickleburgh and Lizzie Clymer.

HARLESTON MAGPIES LADIES WEEKEND PREVIEW

Harleston Magpies Ladies 1st team sponsored by Musker McIntyre Estate Agents are away this Saturday against Maidenhead starting at 1.30pm. Last week Magpies made very hard work of beating Ipswich at home allowing them to score a second half equaliser before several late goals gave a flattering score line of 4-1. Ironically it could have been 5-1 as the final whistle went as Abby Gooderham rounded the goalkeeper and put the ball in the goal.

However that win means Magpies continued their good form since Christmas with three wins as well as a draw against League leaders Slough. Magpies remain in 4th position two points behind Cambridge City in second place and Wimbledon in 3rd place.

After a very positive first season in the East Conference Maidenhead are finding the going a lot tougher this season as they are currently in the relegation play off position of 9th. They seem to be scoring goals freely but defensively they have conceded 46 goals. Last season Magpies lost the opening game of the season at Maidenhead which was not helped by arriving late having faced all kinds of traffic jams. Hopefully it will be a smoother journey this time.

Maria Andrews returns to the squad and youngster Tor Findlay has been called up for her first taste of National League hockey.

SQUAD FROM:

Lucy Belsey (Capt), Debbie Francis, Charlotte Lee-Smith, Molly Redgrove, Katrina Sitch, Kath Johnson, Lauren Barber, Louisa Greenacre, Lucy Whiting, Emma Lee-Smith, Charlotte Harrison, Abby Gooderham, Maria Andrews, Tor Findlay and Lizzie Clymer.

HARLESTON MAGPIES LADIES WEEKEND PREVIEW

Harleston Magpies Ladies 1st team sponsored by Musker McIntyre Estate Agents are at home this Saturday against local rivals Ipswich starting at 2.00pm. Last week Magpies continued their good form since the Christmas break with a well deserved away win at St Albans. Magpies left it really late with Lauren Barber scoring in the final minute, but it was nothing less than Magpies deserved. Throughout the match Magpies were the better side and squandered a number of chances including a penalty flick.

This result has seen Magpies climb to 4th in the League just two points behind Wimbledon in 2nd place with four games remaining. Magpies will want to continue this good form when they play Ipswich, who are struggling in a battle against relegation. Regardless of the League positions these matches are usually very closely contested and earlier in the season Magpies ran out 2-1 winners at Ipswich with goals from Emma Lee-Smith and Abby Gooderham.

Last week illness struck a number of the players, but this week sees the return of Captain Lucy Belsey and hopefully all the squad will remain healthy this week.

SQUAD:

Lucy Belsey (Capt), Debbie Francis, Charlotte Lee-Smith, Molly Redgrove, Katrina Sitch, Kath Johnson, Lauren Barber, Louisa Greenacre, Lucy Whiting, Emma Lee-Smith, Susan Wessels, Charlotte Harrison, Abby Gooderham and Lizzie Clymer.

Harleston Magpies Ladies Preview

HARLESTON MAGPIES LADIES WEEKEND PREVIEW

Harleston Magpies Ladies 1st team sponsored by Musker McIntyre Estate Agents are away against St Albans this Saturday starting at 1.00pm. Magpies have made a promising start to the second half of the season having drawn 0-0 at home against the League leaders Slough in the previous week and last weekend beating Chelmsford at home 3-0 with goals from Emma Lee-Smith 2 and Lizzie Clymer. In the end this was a clinical win and again the Magpies defence came away with a clean sheet for the second game running.

Despite their win last week Magpies remain in 7th position but just three points behind St Albans who are in third place. This is a huge incentive for Magpies to climb the table with the right result. This is also a good time to play St Albans as they will be without their two Internationals Hannah McLeod and Ellie Watton, who are both away in Australia with the GB squad. Ellie Watton would have been a significant threat as she is the leading goal scorer for St Albans this season.

Abby Gooderham and Molly Redgrove have both been away this week training with the England U18 and U16 squads respectively.

SQUAD:

Lucy Belsey (Capt), Debbie Francis, Charlotte Lee-Smith, Molly Redgrove, Katrina Sitch, Kath Johnson, Lauren Barber, Louisa Greenacre, Lucy Whiting, Emma Lee-Smith, Susan Wessels, Charlotte Harrison, Abby Gooderham and Lizzie Clymer.

Harleston Magpies Ladies Preview

HARLESTON MAGPIES LADIES WEEKEND PREVIEW

Harleston Magpies Ladies 1st team sponsored by Musker McIntyre Estate Agents are at home against Chelmsford this Saturday starting at 2.00pm. Last weekend Magpies had a very creditable draw at home against League leaders Slough in a game, where they had the chances to win it and they have now taken four points out of six off the League leaders, which is a very impressive return.

Magpies are currently in 7th place in the League three points ahead of Chelmsford. Magpies need to build on their performance from last week and this time take all three points so they can climb up the League table. Magpies defensive record remains one of the best in the League and after their performances against Slough they know they are capable of beating anybody in this League.

Last week Chelmsford faced a tricky away game against Wimbledon and lost 3-1, so they will be looking to improve on that result. Earlier in the season Magpies lost 2-0 away against Chelmsford in a game where Magpies were on top for a large part of the match, but conceded a crucial goal on the counter attack in the second half, which proved decisive.

Last weekend was Sophie Sunderland’s last game for Magpies as she has now gone travelling in her gap year. Lucy Whiting who was unavailable last weekend returns to the squad.

SQUAD:

Lucy Belsey (Capt), Debbie Francis, Charlotte Lee-Smith, Molly Redgrove, Katrina Sitch, Kath Johnson, Lauren Barber, Louisa Greenacre, Lucy Whiting, Emma Lee-Smith, Susan Wessels, Charlotte Harrison, Abby Gooderham and Lizzie Clymer.

HARLESTON MAGPIES LADIES WEEKEND PREVIEW

Harleston Magpies Ladies 1st team sponsored by Musker McIntyre Estate Agents return to outdoor League action for the first time since November 28th, when they take on League leaders Slough at home on Saturday starting at 2.00pm. Slough seem almost certain to win the League as they have already opened up a comfortable gap on second placed Hampstead and Westminster and are the best team we have seen this season.

Ironically Magpies are the only team to have beaten Slough this season when they beat them 1-0 away. Lizzie Clymer scored in the first minute and from then on Magpies dug in to absorb a lot of pressure and on this occasion their fighting spirit saw them over the line. We can be sure that Slough will not have forgotten this and will be looking to continue their march to the title.

With the 1st team involved in the Indoor National League and youth players in the Junior Indoor National finals preparation time for the start of the outdoor League has been difficult. Magpies did have one useful warm up match away against Cambridge City which they drew 3-3.

Magpies are currently 6th in the League three points off third place and seven points off the relegation play off spot. It is that tight a League.

Molly Redgrove makes her first team League debut and we wish her well.

PROBABLE SQUAD:

Lucy Belsey (Capt), Debbie Francis, Charlotte Lee-Smith, Molly Redgrove, Katrina Sitch, Kath Johnson, Lauren Barber, Louisa Greenacre, Sophie Sunderland, Emma Lee-Smith, Susan Wessels, Charlotte Harrison, Abby Gooderham, Lizzie Clymer and Lauren Mickleburgh.

Harleston Magpies Ladies Preview

HARLESTON MAGPIES LADIES WEEKEND PREVIEW

Harleston Magpies Ladies 1st team sponsored by Musker McIntyre Estate Agents are away this Saturday against Sevenoaks starting at 1.30pm. Sevenoaks finished 2nd in the League last season but made a surprisingly poor start to the season losing matches you would normally expect them to win. However they seem to have turned the corner and have won their last three League matches beating Maidenhead at home 3-0, Chelmsford 4-1 away and last week a very good result beating Wimbledon away 1-0. As a result they have moved up to 5th in the League.

Magpies had a very disappointing result last week against a good Westminster and Hampstead side losing 2-1 at home. It was even more disappointing after the high of beating Slough away the previous week. Magpies played well in the first half and were in front 1-0 at half time but were unable to maintain it in the second half. Playing Sevenoaks away has always been a tough match but Magpies will need to find the attitude and desire they had at Slough if they want to get a result.

Kara Kilbourn joins the squad.

SQUAD:

Lucy Belsey (Capt), Debbie Francis, Charlotte Lee-Smith, Katrina Sitch, Kath Johnson, Lauren Barber, Louisa Greenacre, Sophie Sunderland, Emma Lee-Smith, Hattie Sunderland, Charlotte Harrison, Kara Kilbourn, Lizzie Clymer and Lucy Whiting.
