Girls Development B v St Joseph’s College
(Away L 0-3)

The Girls Development B Team travelled to St Josephs College, Ipswich for a friendly fixture against their Girls U13 Team.
With a squad of only 11 girls, of mixed age range, (some only 10 years old), and several who had not played on a full pitch before, we knew it was going to be a tough fixture against a team of 14 older girls.
However, this did not deter our girls who came out from the start with enthusiasm and conviction.
Magpies were under constant pressure from St Jo’s strong  attacking play but our defence absorbed much of the pressure, with Ellie Cook, Isabelle, Emma and Fern putting in some great tackles and clearing the ball out of our D. Georgia Flatt, voted ‘man of the match’ by her team mates, was amazing in goal, pulling off some dramatic saves, not only with her feet but also mid-air stick action!
Magpies worked hard in midfield and there was some good attacking play by the forwards resulting in a couple of opportunities of shots at goal.
St Jo’s opened the scoring in the first quarter and then went on to score another two goals in the final quarter
All the girls worked really hard, and should be very proud of their performance and did  well to only concede the three goals.
Squad: Georgia Flatt, Ellie Cook,Emma Ford, Fern Berry, Isabelle Potter, Hatty Cooper, Harriet Soper, Dulcie Seppings, Florence Collins, Ellie Bowden (capt) Kate Ford”
