HARLESTON MAGPIES LADIES 1ST TEAM WEEKEND PREVIEW
Harleston Magpies Ladies sponsored by Kitchen Sense play Ipswich away this Sunday at Tuddenham Road, Ipswich starting at 2.00pm. Ipswich currently top the League with the same number of points as Sevenoaks but Ipswich lead on goal difference. Magpies are in third place seven points behind the these two top teams and with two games to go cannot catch either of these teams, but they need the points if they are going to hang on to third place.
As Magpies play Sevenoaks at home next week (2.00pm start) they could play a significant part in who goes on to win this League. Earlier in the season Magpies lost 1-0 at home to Ipswich in a very tight game that was decided by a penalty corner so they will be trying very hard to reverse this result.
Last week Magpies took on Old Loughtonians at home with three successive wins under their belt and at 2-0 up seemed on course to make it four in a row until a serious head injury and yellow card within minutes of each other completely disrupted the Magpies defence. Old Loughtonians who seemed dead and buried grabbed their opportunity and scored a late equaliser. However prior to those events Magpies seemed in good form so they have every reason to go into the game on Sunday with confidence and under no pressure. Angie Wheelhouse who is the leading goal scorer in this League is back in the goals and Cherry Seaborn is not far behind, so Magpies have the fire power to win the match. What they need on the day is a good team performance.
