Ladies 2nds v Dereham (Away (L) W 2-1)
The ladies started off well looking strong in attack but were unable to score. As the half wore on it looked as though either team could score, the first goal came from Magpies a good press at a 16, Tibbenham passed the ball in to Anouska Stott for her to spot the ball in. Magpies went into half time 1-0 up. Half time provided the chance to iron out the mistakes we were making.
Dereham came out after half time with a visible determination. Trying to take the three points, they were first to open the scoring in the second half, From a short corner. Magpies were not content with leaving the score as a draw. Some good attacking play saw Fran burrell with the Ball in the 25. A slick pass into the D to Laura Tibbenham who turned and put the Ball past the goalie to make the score 2-1. After a period of ill discipline magpies found themselves down to 9 players which gave Dereham the chance to attack and had a number of short corners all excellently defended and some great saved from Jade Daly. The final result was a 2-1 win to Magpies. Magpies will look to improve on a number of things when they are next in action on the 27th January. The ladies 2’s don’t have a fixture next week due to U16 and U18 players going to national indoor finals, good luck to all the girls.
