LADIES 2ND TEAM REPORT 2ND DECEMBER 2017

Ladies 2nd v Wisbech Ladies 1 ( Home (L) W 7-0 )

Sitting proudly on top of the league (unbeaten) the Ladies 2’s welcomed Wisbech to the Nest hoping to continue our excellent run. The match couldn’t have started better for Magpies as Captain Laura Tibbenham lead by example and scored in the 1st minute after good work from Anouska Stott to make it 1-0.
Magpies started the game confidently and were soon 2-0 ahead thanks to a goal from Alice Woollatt. After 15 minutes Magpies went 3-0, Alice broke down the right flank and passed to Tibbs who then picked out Anouska who calmly scored, this was the pick of the goals as it showed great team passing.
The team were playing some of the best hockey of the season, transferring the ball well and having lots of attacking play in the Wisbech half. Debbie Francis and Fran Burrell were controlling the midfield and before half time Anouska added another to make it 4-0 at half time.
The 2nd half continued as the 1st half finished, Tibbenham scored her 2nd of the game and made the score 5-0 . The defence didn’t allow Wisbech many scoring chances, Herschel-Shorland had a excellent match. Fran got on the score sheet scoring the 6th goal following good work by Katie Woollatt. Anouska completed the scoring and completed her hat trick after she picked up a long range pass from Alice and then rounded the keeper to make the final score 7-0.
Next week we are at home against Newmarket.
