ladies 2nd Team v UEA (Away (L) W 4-1)

Magpies arrived feeling confident but knowing they mustn’t be complacent. They started pretty well creating some chances but didn’t have the same conviction as they had had the week before. It took some time to get their first goal into the net which eventually came from a lovely bit of play Katrina Sitch ran the ball to the line and a touch from Tibbenham got the ball to Anouska Stott to slot the ball in, 1-0. Play continued and no more goals came UEA were soaking up the pressure at the back and the goalie was making some good saves. Magpies went into the half time with a 1-0 lead.

Magpies started the second half much better than the first half once again they were attacking well. Unfortunately not far into the second half Debbie Francis took a knock to the face and had to go off. UEA managed to regroup and caught Magpies on the break and found the net to make it 1-1. Magpies kicked it up a gear after that they had a number of short corners which they failed to convert. It didn’t take long before A. Woollatt managed to cross the ball from the right, where Katrina managed to get a touch on the ball and Laura Tibbenham got her first of the game to make it 2-1 and put magpies back on top. Magpies kept the pressure on looking for another goal and it came this time from Katrina Sitch running in to the D beating the defence and a nicely placed reverse shot made the score 3-1. A great pass from Charlotte Seaman through to Tibbenham ahead of the defenders allowed her to run into the D with only the goalie to beat, she rounded the goalie and made the score 4-1.

Next week the ladies 2’s play St Neots at home at 12pm.
