LADIES 4TH TEAM REPORT 10TH NOVEMBER 2018

Ladies 4th Team v Loddon Ladies 1 D 0-0

Loddon Ladies 1’s came to the Nest having scored 32 goals and only conceded 10 so far this season. Magpies knew this game was going to be a tough test. With a few fresh faces in the 4’s this week Magpies took the game to Loddon from the first whistle, magpies quickly settled and played excellent hockey, Cassie and Sophie were winning every 50/50 ball in the midfield and brilliant crosses into the Loddon D from Honey and Alice E-H were creating plenty of scoring openings but the Loddon GK was having an excellent game. Sophie M-A was on the end of a quick break from  one end of the pitch to the other with a combination of accurate passes and good movement but Sophie M-A’s deflection went narrowly past the Loddon post with the keeper beaten. The defence of Rosie, Emily, Alice E-H and Izzy protected Abby in goal not allowing Loddon to increase their impressive goal tally . Good early accurate passes from Rosie and Emily allowed magpies midfield to break quickly and maintain the pressure in the Loddon D. Izzy and Honey caused Loddon problems all game with their pace and pin point passes. The 2nd half was a similar pattern to the 1st half with constant magpies pressure but unfortunately could not force the ball into the goal. At the start of the match a draw would have been a good result, by the way Magpies dominated the game and created chances they feel all 3 points should have been taken. However its a point gained and following on from last weeks 2nd half performance we can now start to climb the table and be in the position our performance suggests we could be.
Next week we have at home against Evergreens.
