Ladies 4th Team Report 21st October 2017

Ladies 4th Team v Norwich Dragons 4th (Away (L) L 1-3)

After a heartbreaking defeat against their 5ths last week, Magpies travelled back to Norwich Dragons to face their 4th team in what we expected to be a tough fixture.

Magpies started brightly and had a good amount of possession, with Julie Davy standing in as right back linking up well with Rachel Goodson in midfield we created chances in the Dragons’ 25, eventually winning a short corner. This was hit out by Rach to Janna Freeman who’s strike nearly broke the backboard! 1-0 Magpies.

Sadly the lead was short lived and a change of positions by the Dragons forwards complexed the Magpies defence and despite the best efforts of Megan Beckett and Beth Farrow resulted in the equaliser.

The second half was just as even. Birthday girl Sophie Maynell, Judith Masters and Player of the match Imogen Ramsdale worked tirelessly in midfield with support from Lottie Nickson and Imogen Maynell Anderson upfront.

We worked our socks off but Dragons snuck another two goals away before the final whistle, meaning the Ladies 4ths are firmly stuck to the bottom of the league table…with Norwich Dragons 3rds next up!
