LADIES 4TH TEAM REPORT 28TH JANUARY 2018

Ladies 4th Team v Norwich Dragons 5th (Home (L) W 3-0)

Despite the less than ideal first half of the season (where we failed to pick up a single point), the Ladies Fourths have had 2 wins from 3 games in 2018 and are finally off the bottom of the Norfolk Premier league table.
Spirits were high going into this 6 pointer with Norwich Dragons Fifths and, with the addition of Coach Stacey to the dugout and prolific midfielder Imi Ramsdale available for the first time since Christmas, Magpies were determined to get a win.
Coming out of the blocks fighting we soon had Dragons on the back foot and Imogen Maynell Anderson converted an early penalty stroke to put Magpies ahead. The pressure continued down that end and the in-form Janna Freeman slotted another goal home, before Cassie Aymes scored on her comeback, taking Magpies into half time with a 3-0 lead.
Dragons fought back and kept the back line of Treacle, Krystal Jenkins, Emily Woollatt and Rosie Blackmore on their toes but rarely broke through for a shot at Alice Gooch’s goal. The dynamic duo of Imi Ramsdale and Sophie Govier-Schaay in midfield were too nippy for Norwich to cope with and created even more chances in the second half which were narrowly missed.
We may not be promotion contenders this season but the comeback is on!
