Ladies 4th’s – Match Report

Norwich City III 2 – 2 Magpies Ladies IV

A lovely sunny day saw Magpies travel to Taverham for their first match of the season to play Norwich City in a friendly.

Magpies enjoyed the majority of possession in the early moments of the game, playing against only nine players in the City side. However, City started to get a hold in the game, and a free hit ended in them taking the lead, a shot from close range beating the Magpies’ ‘keeper. City doubled their lead soon after. Magpies kept positive and created some chances, but were unable to find the net.

The second half saw the match turn, Lucie Hadley getting a goal back for Magpies, a good finish from a tight angle. Shortly after, Kay Dennis scored the equaliser from a good ball through the middle from Treacle Snelling. Both sides fought hard for the winner, but the score remained 2 all, a fair result after a good game.

A positive result for Magpies going into next week’s match against Norwich Dragons, a team they will be facing in the league later on in the year.
