LADIES 6TH TEAM REPORT 29TH SEPTEMBER 2018

Ladies 6th Team v Breckland W 4-0

The ladies 6s arrived bright and early in Thetford for this week’s fixture against Breckland. Once the goals had finally been released from their padlock the match started with Magpies showing lots of energy and determination to keep possession and dominate play.
Louise Davy and Shirley McAllen had great games in midfield ensuring any opposition attacks were broken down higher up the pitch meaning Magpies were able to press high. Jane Collins capitalised on this by making an excellent run from right defence to score a superb goal.
Alyssa Walker and Krystal Jenkins combined effectively down the centre of the field, both distributing the ball calmly and decisively to stretch play across the pitch.
Magpies dominated possession in the first half, going into the break with a three goal lead curtesy of two further goals from Rach Clifford and Janna Freeman.
Second half Breckland had an injection of strength and pace meaning Magpies had to work harder. The 6s showed their growing confidence by passing the ball round the back when needed, working together to build sustained attacks on the Breckland D and hold on to their clean sheet.
A good goal from Janna Freeman secured a 0:4 win for Magpies 6s.
The 6s did extremely well to maintain structure and composure with a large 15player squad. Many thanks to Ross Carter for managing our rolling substitutions.
