Magpies 4ths 2 Dragons 4ths 1

After a motivating pre match talk from Treacle, the 4th’s were pumped and ready to go in their 3rd game of the season.

We came out strong from the start; keen to put pressure on Norwich Dragon’s,which paid off, as Georgie Cantrell scored an early goal. This put the team in a positive frame of mind to continue the game.

We had the majority of possession throughout both halves however a very strong goalie made it difficult for the trio of forwards to get any in the
net. Dragon’s had a break with miscommunication from ourselves which resulted in us conceding a goal, taking the score to 1-1 to end the first
half.

At half time is was clear that we deserved to raise our score and came out determined to do that.

After many efforts of finding a way to get around Dragon’s quality keeper we eventually succeeded from a strong ball in from Caz to Imogen who flicked it at the keeper, which came off her pads and Georgie got straight on and pushed in behind her, scoring her second goal of the game.

The next set of play came fast and we were straight back up the pitch ready to attack again, however frustratingly were unable to get around the keeper.

Magpies continued to attack but where only rewarded with a controversial yellow card, we continued a player down for the remaining two minutes of the game, despite this, our team stayed strong, keeping the majority of possession, and the few opportunities they had to score Alice kept out. The final whistle came signalling a great 2 – 1 win for Magpies.

We’re excited to face Evergreen’s 1’s next Saturday away and continue to form a stronger team as we settle into the season.
