Magpies 6th Match Report

Norwich City IV 0-2 Harleston Magpies XI

It was a late push back at UEA for the first league game of the season, in the rather warm sunshine accompanied by some live music from a nearby fete!
Magpies started the game with confidence and it showed in the amount of time spent in the opposition half, great passing movement throughout the defence and midfield meant that the ball was continually finding the front line and creating the chances magpies needed. After several missed chances the ball found Katie Webb in front of the goal and after a bit of a goal mouth scuffle the ball was flicked into the back of the net.
In the second half the chances kept on coming for Magpies and frustratingly the finishes weren’t coming! Eventually towards the end of the game the second goal did come from some great passing up the right wing finding Lisa Kent who slotted the ball past the ‘keeper to seal a well earned Magpies win.
Credit goes to the whole of the Magpies team who played really well together in the first league game of the season which leaves them top of the table, lets hope we can stay there!
