Magpies Ladies 6th XI match report

Harleston Magpies Ladies 6th XI match report.

Magpies played against Norwich City 4 on a lovely, sunny morning at Taverham. Unfortunately, a third of our team were missing and the replacement Development Team players had just played a full match. So with a muddled start, Norwich swiftly took advantage and scored within minutes. During the first half, Norwich City kept the ball despite our best efforts and managed to score three more goals through speed and swift passing.

During the second half, rather than feeling glum, we kept the ball at our end of the pitch. Everything was going well and we even cracked their defence with a few shots at goal. It was just into the last quarter of the match that Norwich scored again. However, with some determined playing, Imogen Anderson passed the ball to Katie Webb at the top of the D who smashed the ball past the keeper. Shortly afterwards, Norwich retaliated with a lifted pass, in our D, which hit a Norwich player in the head. Yet play was allowed to continue, despite everyone’s concern, and Norwich scored.
