Magpies Take on Third Placed Wimbledon
Magpies fresh after their week’s break take on third placed Wimbledon at Weybread on Sunday, push back 2.15. Wimbledon travel to Norfolk following their 2-1 victory over Teddington in which former magpie James Osborne scored two open play goals. Matt Riches another former player is joined by household names Ben Hawes and Ben Marsden together with a squad brimming with internationals. They have only lost one game this season and that against Magpies last opponents Old Loughtonians.Magpies put on their best display of the season away at the Essex side losing by the odd goal in seven. Having stormed into a 3-1 lead with three open play goals it was disappointing to let that lead slip and go in at half time equal. Magpies threatened to win in the second half however, on the day Old Loughtonian’s corner drill was good, scoring all four from corners, with the fourth coming but five minutes from the end.
Despite the two week break it is unlikely that Tristan Baynes and Mark Wheelhouse will be fit for this weekend ,however all other members of the squad are available for selection.
