Boys’ Development – Saturday 7 November 2015 (Norfolk Development League)
Magpies 4 Dereham 2
After a delayed start to a wet game, Dereham eventually got going with 2 adults and 2 older players helping them get a team out. Sam Emms (10) then replaced an adult and played for Dereham in centre midfield, where he helped Dereham go into half-time in the lead 1-0. After a positive half-time team talk, Magpies restarted the game as they should have done at the beginning, and quickly turned the score round to 2-1 within the first 5 minutes through goals from Jake Caston and Jude Pottruff. A further OG (claimed by Pottruff), a superb Dereham thrash to the top of the net at the far post, and then a goal from Tom Caston resulted in a 4-2 final score to Magpies. Development debuts were given to Rory Jackson (GK) and Jack Norton who both equipped themselves well.
U14 Boys – Sunday 8 November 2015 (EH Championship)
Magpies 0 Norwich City 5
Magpies started brightly against a strong City side back to full strength with their regional players back in the team. However Magpies just couldn’t just put their chances away and found themselves 3-0 down at half-time due to some clinical finishing by the City centre forward. More chances came in the second half but the final touch just wasn’t there, Magpies went down 5-0, a scoreline that slightly flattered City who were the better team on the day. The team retained discipline and all worked really hard throughout the game with thanks to Richard Larkin for umpiring.
