Norwich Union 4s 1-3 Magpies 5s

After a good strong fifteen minutes Magpies were unlucky to not score in the first half with good interlocking play from the right side; though led to no goal remuneration. It was a balanced first half with chances at both ends.

Norwich Union started well in the second half which resulted in a quick goal. With an assist from Ed Watson and Tim Mann, Kyran Weir finally put Magpies on the scoreboard on his debut with a clinical finish past the keeper to bring the scores level.

After continued pressure magpies won a short corner to which Robin Hayward put the fifths in the lead with a well directed shot in the corner of the goal. As both sides tired, Magpies midfield and forwards made use of the extra space to score a third goal. Tim Mann received the ball in the D from Robin Hayward, turned and executed with precision a powerful shot into the corner.

A solid 3-1 victory to start the league season with good performances from the back four and goalkeeper Tom Marshall.
