Magpies Mens 4s 3-2 Bury St Edmunds 2s

This was by far Magpies Development XI best performance of the year if you exclude the first 10 minutes of the match! Magpies started very slowly against one of the top teams in the league and Bury seized upon this and took the initiative scoring twice in quick succession.

With the game looking like a one way affair the resilience and determination of Magpies young players shone through and with the introduction of Dan Legg and Ben Wright into the Midfield Magpies turned round the slow start and started to pressurise the Bury keeper who looked unbeatable saving shots with all parts of his body.

Craig Snelling eventually managed to break the deadlock arriving late in the D to sweep the ball low and hard into the goal. This goal before half time proved to be decisive and gave Magpies the encouragement they needed to keep chasing the game in the second half which they all did. The forwards of Will Bamber, Andy Caston, George Moore all created opportunities and eventually completed the victory through a Bamber brace of short corner variations.
