U10A Girls at the Pelicans tournament Sunday 13th November

What a great day we all had up at Pelicans today. Fab weather for the time of year, great new pitches and awesome hockey! The U10A girls continued their winning ways scoring 24 goals and conceding 2 to win the Gold tournament. Again entries in the A team tournament were a bit sparse and so we were scheduled to play Norwich Dragons, Norwich City Yellow and Norwich City green twice each. Results were as follows:

1st set of matches

Norwich City Green won 4 – 0 (Emily 2, Natalie 1, Beth 1)
Norwich Dragons won 2 – 0 (Beth and Natalie)
Nowich City yellow won 4 – 2 (Ophelia 2, Harriet 1 and Beth 1)

2nd set of matches

Norwich City Green won 4 – 0 (Ophelia 2, Beth 1 and Emily 1)
Norwich Dragons won 4 – 0 (Ophelia 2 and Beth 2)
Nowich City yellow won 4 – 0 (Ophelia 2, Beth 1 and Natalie 1)

It was a promising debut for Ophelia in the A team with 8 goals during the morning but, as has become the way of this team, the great results were more down to solid team performances, with everyone playing their part, than individual performances. Most pleasing were the number of times we moved the ball wide to find space before putting well timed crosses into the circle showing that their good work on Friday evenings is paying off.
