Magpies are one of the premier hockey clubs in East Anglia. We own our own facilities, offer excellent playing opportunities for all standards, have a growing membership and run a nationally recognised youth development programme.
Over the past 30 years, the Club has grown steadily in size and successfully managed and funded these major projects:
Built (and later extended) its clubhouse in 1976
Bought its own ground in 1982
Put down a sand-based artificial grass pitch in 1990
Put down a water-based pitch in 2002
Re-carpeted the sand-based pitch in 2006
Why Support Magpies?
We offer opportunities for all standards and ages to enjoy playing hockey.
We have an excellent record of playing success.
The Ladies’ 1st XI play in Conference East of the England National League and the Men’s 1st play in Premier A of the East League.
We have produced many age group international players with four going on to become full internationals.
We have proved our ability to plan, fund and sustain major developments. Since 1988 the Club has invested over £1,000,000 in facilities with £350,000 coming from grants and the remainder raised by the Club, its members and local businesses.
