Womens 3s vs UEA W1

Womens 3s Match Report 11.11.2023

Lovely sunny morning at the Nest and Magpies 3’s were clearly keen to bounce back from the loss last week.

Good early pressure from Magpies; winning a few corners, but the UEA defence held firm and we couldn’t convert.

Lots of encouragement from the sideline kept the team working hard, and following a great carry from Amy H, ahead found Lily who passed to Dulcie who calmly slotted the ball home - Magpies 1-0.

Magpies second goal came from relentless shots from Kit after some hard work in field - the UEA keeper made some great saves, but player of the game Kit kept working and her third strike made it past the keeper; 2-0 up!

UEA kept battling and were certainly stronger in the second half. They won a few short corners; our defence held strong and kept them out, but sadly another short corner saw a drag flick from the UEA too strong, and it was now 2-1.

A card for Magpies in the last quarter added to the pressure and despite our best efforts UEA managed to draw level with their second goal in the final Minutes.

Final score 2-2; lots to be proud of but, as always, still lots to work on if we want to maintain our top of the table position.

POTM: Kit
