Angie scored within 5mins. Mel showed her experience by getting our first short corner. Anastasia had a good shot at goal which was sadly saved. Evie was playing strongly in defence passing the ball to Mel who won another short corner. Shortly after Evie passed a great ball to Florence who popped it in for Magpies 2nd goal. After some more dominance by Magpies Angie passed to Izzy Waller for our 3rd goal. Not long after Florence got a cracking goal her 2nd of the game to take Magpies 4-0 up. Some more strong play from Izzy Potter and Izzy Parkin kept Magpies dominant. Shortly after Sudbury won a short corner which unfortunately came off a defenders stick which gave Sudbury their 1 goal of the game. Molly had some super play quickly followed by Anastasia running down the pitch showing her wonderful skills. Jim was getting excited in the dugout telling the ladies to keep strong and believe in themselves.
After half time Darcy continued with her strong performance passing to Izzy Potter who won a long corner. Not long after came Magpies 5th goal from Angie. More great play from Anastasia, Izzy Waller, Izzy Potter and Mel winning another short corner. Good defence from Sudbury kept the ball out once again. With Vanessa, Evie & Izzy Potters strong defending the ball got through to the forwards who won another short corner. Mel hit a great strong straight ball which bashed the back board giving Magpies a 6-1 lead. Not long after, Anastasia’s determination won her a green card giving the Simmons family (father & brother) a hat-trick for the season (thus far!) A good game by Magpies keeps them top of the table 2 points ahead of Felixstowe 1s.
