Magpies didn’t get off to the best start with the quickest green card ever, leaving magpies starting the game with 10 players.. thank you Oli! Barbs then got a stick to the head, which led to a short delay whilst they cleaned the blood bath from the pitch. The game got back up and running but Magpies luck didn’t change and Bath put 1 past Magpies ending the first quarter 1-0 down.
The second quarter started a bit more positive with magpies winning a few penalty corners but they weren’t able to take their chances. Bath had a counter attack and Magpies made a good interception but a miss trap lead to a penalty corner. Bath managed to sneak another one past the post. Halftime was blown and Magpies are 2-0 down.
After a few wise words from Adnan, Magpies were pumped and ready to take on the second half. They started strongly playing some lovely hockey, Anna Cogdell dribbled through Baths’s defence and secured Magpies their first goal of the game. Magpies continued to play some very positive hockey and ended the 3rd quarter still down, 2-1.
In the final quarter Magpies played well and created chances but unfortunately Bath scored a counterattack goal finishing the game 3-1. Magpies fought to the end but unfortunately it wasn’t their day.
