Magpies made the trip to Birmingham with high hopes of securing a third consecutive win. However, a blow came early in the day when Ewan Cumming’s pulled up with an injury, forcing him to miss the match. Despite this setback, the team remained undeterred and ready for the challenge.
From the outset, Birmingham Uni pressed hard and looked dangerous. Their relentless pressure paid off early when they earned a short corner, which they successfully converted to take the lead.
Harleston, however, quickly bounced back with great intent. Showing strong resolve, they equalised not long after, thanks to a well-worked piece of play orchestrated by Sam Emms. His clever setup found Billy Flatt, who made no mistake in putting the ball in the back of the net.
The game continued to be an intense contest, with both teams showing strong attacking intent, but it was the Magpies' quick response that demonstrated their resilience and focus despite the early setback.
Ben Emms converted a penalty flick and Myles King scored his 14th goal of the season. Despite this hard effort in the 4th quarter, it wasn’t enough to win the game. 5-3 Loss
