After the half term break, the Women's 2s travelled to St Albans. We welcomed Lucy Field back after her trip away with the England Masters Squad in South Africa, as well as Kit Van Haren, Chloe Holmes and Charlotte Buck.
St Albans demonstrated from the start their ability to move the ball well however, Magpies remained composed and were quick to turnover the ball to counterattack through their forward line of Lexi, Krystal and Grace. The St Albans keeper made some excellent saves throughout both halves to deny Magpies from scoring.
At the half time break Magpies regrouped and Krystal was able to make some excellent quick shots in close range but was denied again.
St Albans were also quick to break and GK George pulled out some excellent diving saves to keep the score at 0-0.
St Albans increased the intensity in the last 15 minutes and even with a few short corners were unable to convert.
The Magpies midfield of Debbie (MOM), Charlie, Lisa (MOM) and Lucy held their ground to keep the opposition from breaking through.
The game ended in a 0-0 draw.
