After the Christmas break and a frozen pitch last week, the Women's 2s travelled to Cambridge for a 4pm start. They welcomed Ella Picton and Liv Thomas back from injury with Flo Collins rejoining the squad.
Under the lights, Magpies started confidently. Controlling the game from the back, Magpies built the play to apply early pressure. The forwards applied pressure and a turnover ball by Krystal, followed by a great strike saw Magpies go 1-0 up.
Player of the match Lisa worked relentlessly down the left supported by Lexi who won a short corner. A strike from Kira was saved but Mia was quick on the rebound to strike the ball into the goal. Magpies went into half time 2-0 up.
Cambridge came out fighting second half and applied pressure to Magpies. It took time for the team to build their play but a first time ball from Kira to Mia who slotted the ball to Krystal on the post saw Magpies secure their 3rd goal of the game.
Final score 3-0.
Magpies play Cambridge 2s at home next week.
