The day was Saturday 16th November 🗓️, the team was raring to play some liquid Hocks 🏑 against the mighty Norwich Dragons 2s🐉. After another superb 👌 warmup 🙆♀️ lead by Mel, we were ready to rock and roll 🎸. The whistle 😗 went and dragons 🐲 had first push back. Right from the off it was noted they had a sneaky player 🐍 whom we collectively called ‘leggings🦵🏼👖’. Leggings was slithering her way through the field 🌾 but was no match for our strong 💪🏼 defence. Unfortunately in the 16th minute the mythical creatures 🧟♀️🧌 scored.
At half time the score remained 1-0, we were confident we could claw it back. We had a great team talk 🗣️ with some sweets 🍬 and oranges 🍊 and were ready to take on the rest of the game. It wasn’t a great start to the second half 🚫👎🏼… The mythical beasts 👹 scored in both the 36th and 38th minute, I’ll give it to them they were some pretty good goals 💯🥅. So then the battle ⚔️ continued, we had some amazing 💥attacking play and brilliant defending🙌. Although, I must say most of it was great apart from Kate getting a green card 🟩 and being sent off for 2mins 🤭. Sadly, we conceded in both the 53rd and 69th minute ⏱️. However, just before the last goal of the game a mythical creature 🐉 also got a green card.
The game ended in disappointing 😔 5-0 loss, but the score definitely does not 🚫 reflect 🪞the level of hockey 🏑 played and the fight 🤺 we magpies 🦅 (I know this is not a magpie emoji but it’s close enough) put in. We played some beautiful smooth like butter 🧈 hockey and I’m very proud 🎖️of the whole team.
Our player of the match goes to the wonderful Lexi, we can always count on her to keep the engine running 🏃♀️ , never missing a tackle🏑, and always helping on the attack🥊 (with some pretty wicked 🪄skills).
