This weekend 📆 the Magpies 🥧 took on Norwich City 2s 🔰. Before the game 🏑 started the opposition and kept interrupting ✋🏼 our vital team talk (was this on purpose 🤨 so they could sabotage our plans 📝❓). Aside from this, we got on with a brilliant warm up 🏃♀️💨 and some pre-match drills. Before we knew it, the game was on 👏🏼📈.
Soon into the game City bagged 💼 a corner but our excellent 👌 defence kept it out of the goal 🥅 and we were onto the fast 💨 counter attack 🤺ending with a great shot from Ange which was well saved by city 🏙️. Keeping the pressure on in the oppositions half the pies 🥧 managed to snag a couple shorts 🩳 ourselves and with the help of super subs 👥 Rachel and Tegan we kept attacking strong 💪🏼 with more short corners gained, which sadly 😢 were defended well. It was continuously a good battle ⚔️ throughout and in the later ⏰ stages of the first half Ange had a great attempt on goal 🥅 but before she could get a proper strike 🎳 was wiped out ⚠️ by the keeper.
We finished the first half drawing 0-0. Ate our haribos 🍬for energy and spoke tactics 💬 (can’t give anything away as we’re playing the 3s soon 🤫) ready to take on the second half.
Right off the bat 🦇 Caitlyn made an AMAZING save at a short corner. We were under a lot of pressure😓 but held our ground 🕳️. With a lot of grit and determination we had the ball in the attacking D… BAM 💥 FLO SCORED 🏆!!! A beautiful ball lifted into the bottom corner. All we had to do was keep up the great defence until the final whistle went, and we did🎉🍾!! Finishing the game with a lovely 1-0 win 🥇.
Our player of the match went to Evie for having an absolute beauty of a game 🤩and always being reliable to get the ball out in defence💪🏼👏🏼.
