Womens 8s vs Norwich Dragons W8

Magpies started well with a strong attack down the left wing resulting in an attempt at goal which was deflected into the path of Amelia Stott who then shot at goal resulting in the teams first goal with just 6 minutes on the clock. The team continued to play well working up and down the pitch to create chances and also clear the ball from defence. On 27 minutes Amelia Stott slotted in her 2^nd goal from a through ball which enabled her to dribble round the defence and keeper to slot the ball home. Just 2 minutes later Lilly Denny scored the 3^rd from a great pass to the back post where she was waiting to slap the ball into the back of the goal. The game continued to be dominated by Magpies with another push forward resulting in Tilly Collins picking up a deflection from the keeper and slapping the ball in for the 4^th goal of the half.

The second half started well with Magpies working hard to create chances and overpowering the defence with multiple efforts at goal. The 5^th goal was scored by Lilly Denny in the 57^th minute with a far post goal mouth scramble which resulted in her getting the ball over the line despite all the sticks! Magpies fought well and won a short corner from which Amelia Stott scored her hattrick on the 65 minute from a beautiful slip pass from and initial strike by Shirley McAllen at the top of the D. Superb team performance at both ends of the pitch resulting in a 6:0 win for the 8ths captained by Amelie Lark.
