This rearranged game saw a change to some of the personnel who played in the dazzling display last week. After such a good result many of the team were looking forward to playing the top of the table team at the Nest. The first half did not quite go to plan, conceding 3 goals in 10 minutes. Opportunities were available however it wasn’t to be.
Half time bought a small change in formation. Conceding again on the 38th minute meant we were then losing 4-0. With this sudden realisation the team started to dig deep and opportunities started to arise. With some great pressure from the team Lily went through to score, we were on the board!
The following 13 minutes led to a number of nervous moments however, Caitlin made some great saves to keep the team in the game. An interception and layoff by Angie to Lily led to a wonderful bottom corner goal from the top of the D. The following 5 minutes were played much in the UEA half, increased pressure led to a number of short corners and eventually a deft finish by Izzy meant the score had gone to 3-4 with 3 tense minutes left to play.
Sadly a point alluded the team but with such an improved second half performance, against the top team in the league, we can now take this into next week. Player of the game was shared between Caitlin and Izzy.
