Under the lights, Magpies sought to keep up their good form at the Nest this week.
Magpies played the ball around well, playing with a high intensity and created some good opportunities. The Blueharts defence stood firm with a goal line clearance from a deflection redirected by Andrew Johnson and a triple save from the Blueharts keeper - Magpies couldn’t find a way to score.
Blueharts took the lead as the ball managed to bobble through the magpies defence and find its way into the back of the goal.
A last ditch tackle in the D lead to penalty flick being awarded to Blueharts which was well dispatched into the bottom left corner. In the second half magpies discipline got a bit a sloppy and a poor tackle from Seth Read and some over enthusiastic 50-50s led to magpies going down to 9 men in the 4th quarter.
Magpies had a mountain to climb with 2 goals needed to get any points. Magpies dominated possession but couldn’t convert. Creating lots of chances and a well worked short corner routine hitting the cross bar. A disappointing result for magpies but lots to work on going forward to next week.
0-2 Loss.
Man of the Match: Oli Hall, good solid performance, looking classy both on the ball and off.
