Another strong weekend across the club as our men’s and women’s sides racked up goals, hat-tricks, and crucial points in their league campaigns — all building nicely ahead of Oktobernest at the clubhouse this weekend! 🍻🎉

MEN’S RESULTS

1s – 9️⃣–1️⃣ WIN
A dominant display from the 1s with five different scorers.

2s – 4️⃣–0️⃣ WIN
Another clean sheet and another brace for Joshua Means, leading the line superbly. Great momentum ahead of next week’s top-of-the-table clash with Dereham.

3s – 4️⃣–4️⃣ DRAW
Hugo Lewis with a goal in last 5 minutes to get a draw on the road.

4s – 2️⃣–4️⃣ LOSS
Battled hard against strong opposition, showing great determination throughout.

5s – WALKOVER WIN
Three points safely secured.

6s – 1️⃣–2️⃣ LOSS
A narrow defeat despite a spirited performance.

Rest week for the 1s before returning to league action.

An emphatic victory featuring a hat-trick for Molly Denny, keeping them top of the table in their promotion push.

Magpies Weekend Round-Up | 27–28 September

The second week of league action brought some big results across the club, with hat-tricks, clean sheets and plenty of goals to cheer about.

Women’s Hockey

  • Women’s 1s battled hard in a competitive match but were edged out 2–0 by Teddington.
  • Women’s 2s faced tough opposition in St Albans, going down 7–0 but continuing to build valuable experience at National League level.
  • Women’s 3s stormed to a 9–0 victory over Ipswich-East Suffolk, with goals shared across the team and a rock-solid defensive display.
  • Women’s 4s picked up a superb 6–0 win against Ipswich 3s, with Holly Goymour scoring a hat-trick.
  • Women’s 5s hit double figures in a 10–0 win at Framlingham 2s, featuring a hat-trick for Darcey Dillon and doubles for both Amelia and Anouska Stott.
  • Women’s 6s battled well for a 1–1 draw with UEA 3s.
  • Women’s 7s – opposition conceded.
  • Women’s 8s earned a narrow but deserved 1–0 win against Norwich Dragons 8s Dev.
  • Girls Development impressed with a 5–0 victory over Pelicans, plenty of young players making their mark.


Men’s Hockey

  • Men’s 1s delivered a statement 5–1 win over Bishops Stortford, led by an Alistair Haslam hat-trick.
  • Men’s 2s produced a strong performance to beat UEA 1s 3–1.
  • Men’s 3s fought hard in a close 1–1 draw with Ipswich 2s.
  • Men’s 4s went down 7–2 to a sharp Dereham side.
  • Men’s 5s came from behind to win 4–1 against Felixstowe 4 Dev, with Oliver Horsup scoring all four goals in a clinical display.
  • Men’s 6s battled well but were narrowly beaten 2–1 by Norwich Dragons 4s.
  • Boys Development continued their good start with a confident 3–0 win over Pelicans.

Magpies Weekend Round-Up | 20–21 September

The first league weekend of the new season brought plenty of action across the club, with standout results, strong performances and some milestone moments to celebrate.

Women’s Hockey

  • Women’s 1s battled hard but were edged out 6–2 by Holcombe.
  • Women’s 2s made their National League debut, going down 3–0 to Cannock, but showing great promise at this new level.
  • Women’s 3s earned a well-deserved 2–0 victory, showing composure at both ends of the pitch and securing a clean sheet.
  • Women’s 4s put in a determined display but lost 3–4 to East Coast.
  • Women’s 5s turned on the style in an 8–0 win over Ipswich East Suffolk – with Anouska Stott (4) and Olivia Manning (2) among the goals.
  • Women’s 6s – opposition conceded (walkover win).
  • Women’s 7s stole the headlines with a 15–0 victory over Ipswich East Suffolk 4s Dev — Tilly Collins scored five in a fantastic team display.
  • Women’s 8s unfortunately had to concede this week.


Men’s Hockey

  • Men’s 1s faced a tough day against Cambridge City, losing 7–0.
  • Men’s 2s impressed with a commanding 4–0 win over Cambridge City 2s, built on disciplined defending and sharp finishing. Goals came from Billy Flatt, Simon Hipwell and Joshua Means.
  • Men’s 3s fought hard but lost 4–1 to Felixstowe 1s.
  • Men’s 4s edged a thriller 4–3 against Felixstowe 2s (goals from Andrew Cook, Jamie Hudson, Gavin Cole).
  • Men’s 5s – no fixture this week.
  • Men’s 6s enjoyed a strong 4–2 win over Framlingham Dev (hat-trick from Toby Evers).


Development Hockey

  • Boys Development produced a confident 6–1 win over Dereham.
  • Girls Development lost 3–4, with several players making their first ever 11-a-side appearances — brilliant effort and experience gained.


Off the Pitch

  • This Saturday 27th: Late-Night Bar at the Clubhouse from 5pm — all welcome after games.
