The Womens 4s started the season in style with a decisive victory over Colchester 3s. The new look team saw the welcome return of Angie Wheelhouse, who quickly made an impact scoring a hat-trick in the first 15 minutes! With the Magpies midfield working hard despite the heat, the team were able to control the first half and a goal from Darcie just before halftime, saw the team 4-0 up at the break.
In the second half the Magpies’ forwards continued to cause Colchester problems with the team winning several short corners. Angie scored her 4th, with Mel Hopkins and Izzy Waller also adding to the goal tally. Colchester had an opportunity late in the game after a break led to a short corner but Magpies successfully defended to maintain their clean-sheet. Darcie scored again in the final minute, with the game ending 8-0 to Magpies.
