Saturday 8th of February Harleston Women's 1st played Southgate, hoping to take the three points after a frustrating draw away in the first half of the season.
The team fought hard, scoring first (goal from Emily Hicks, who was awarded player of the match) in quarter 1, unfortunately Southgate equalised 1-1. This continued ending 2-1 to Harleston at half time.
Play continued end to end, at the end of Q3 the score was 2-2. The fourth quarter the battle between the two sides continued, with cards awarded, short corners won and a fair few counter attacks from both teams wanting to take three points. The game ended with a 2-2 draw, but it shows a great improvement from the Harleston girls and great promise for the rest of the second half of the season as they aim to stay top half of the table.
