After their 0-0 draw against Ipswich last week, the women's 2’s were ready for their first home game of the season against Cambridge City 3s.
Lexi began the game, showing the opposition her quick stickwork creating many early opportunities. A positive start from the 2s saw a quick ball through to Krystal who finished the goal off in style. Cambridge then applied the pressure, securing a short corner which they capitalised making it 1-1. A turn over on the right hand side, gave Mia the opportunity to slip the ball through to Krystal who was ready to score her second of the game just before the half time whistle.
After a short half time break, Magpies were ready to increase their lead and secured a short corner in the 38th minute where Krystal was able to deflect the ball into the goal to secure her hattrick. Siena and Lisa continued to work the ball up the left hand side, winning a further short corner just 5 minutes later. Kira made the score 4-1 with a shot from left slip. Magpies continued to work the ball down the right hand side, with Poppy and Grace working together to build up the play. Player of the match, Krystal was able to finish the game off with her 4th goal to make the final score 5-1. The 2s travel to Cambridge next week to take on their 2nd team at 2pm.
