The Women's 2s travelled to Cambridge City to play their 2nd team this week who have had a very positive start to their season with 2 wins and 6 points on the board.
Both teams started strong, moving the ball and creating chances. Krystal was looking to add to her 4 goals from last week with some close chances against the Cambridge keeper. Grace added to this pressure getting the rebounds but unfortunately Magpies couldn’t capitalise. Just before half time, Lexi used her quick skills to drive into the D and slot the ball into the goal.
Half time 1-0.
Cambridge applied the pressure from the start and won an early short corner. Moving the ball around the top quickly, they managed to strike the ball into the goal making it 1-1. The defensive team who were joined by Jess L managed to prevent any further scoring opportunities to keep Cambridge out. MoM Debbie worked tirelessly in midfield to win the ball and distribute the ball to Mia who quickly put pressure on the opposition. With a close battle until the very end it finished as 1-1 draw.
Magpies head to Peterborough next Saturday.
